So, why did I start this blog?

Many of us have ‘bucket-lists’, either in our minds or written down somewhere, but we all need some motivation to start ticking off the destinations on our lists – don’t we?

Turning 50 was my motivation – reaching this milestone made me realize I needed to start speeding up the goal of ticking off some dreams from my list.

My wife and I have just come back from fulfilling one of these dreams – Walking the Camino Primitivo in Spain. While we were taking in the beauty of the Spanish provinces of Asturias, Galicia, Cantabria and Basque Country, something stirred within my heart. I wanted to share some of our travel experiences with other like-minded people and hopefully inspire others to venture out into the world.

So, I hope that this blog manages to encourage you to GET TRAVELLING.

Why the name?

The EDEN part of the blog’s name, comes from the popular concept of paradise, referred to as the Garden of Eden (in the book of Genesis) and by other associated concepts in other languages, cultures, and mythology.

When we read of all that is happening in our world, it is easy to become cynical and to forget that we live on a beautiful planet. We may never truly know the exact location of the Garden of Eden, but if we open our eyes, we may just be living close to a part of paradise.
